C4 measurement campaign in Marseille
The SCIPPER C4 measurement campaign in Marseille and Fos-sur-Mer harbours took place between 5 and 23 July 2021 deploying remote sensing techniques on-board (harbour vessel), at shore, and carried by UAVs, as well as fixed air quality monitoring stations and several sites in the city equipped with air quality sensors. This campaign aimed at
- Remote compliance monitoring of fuel sulphur content of ships in and outside the ports after global sulphur cap in January 2020 and comparison to pre-cap situation;
- In depth characterisation of fresh plume (black carbon, NOx, particle number and size distribution, particle chemical composition and particle precursos);
- Investigating vessels’ plume interaction with local background pollution levels of the city.
The campaign was led by Dr. Barbara D’ Anna (LCE-AMU-CNRS) and Alexandre Armengaud (AtmoSud).
