SCIPPER measurement campaign in Wedel
The 3rd SCIPPER measurement campaign for the ship emissions monitoring at Elbe river in Wedel near Hamburg (Germany) has started. This campaign aims to demonstrate state-of-the-art and novel measurement techniques, to assess remote measurement techniques, to harmonize compliance monitoring measurement and reporting procedures and to monitor ships’ sulphur compliance.
Gaseous pollutants and particulate matter emissions are monitored by the new mobile measurement station (on the right) and the permanent measurement station (on the left) of Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (Germany), the mobile measurement station (in the center) of Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (the Netherlands) and drones equipped with mini-sniffers.
The campaign is led by Dr. Jörg Beecken with Dr. Andreas Weigelt of Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency.
